Community Impact
Reaching Ghana's
Underserved Communities
Friends Eye Center believes quality eye care is a right, not a privilege. Our outreach programs bring free surgical operations and screenings to the people who need it most.

Eye Care Where It's
Needed Most
FEC's outreach team ventures into Ghana's most deprived communities every month. Particularly focused on northern Ghana, our team performs free surgical operations, distributes corrective eyewear, and conducts large-scale screenings to identify and treat preventable blindness.
The Tamale branch serves as a strategic hub for northern region outreach, providing a foundation for reaching communities in areas that have historically had little access to specialized eye care services.
- Monthly surgical camps in deprived communities
- Free eye screenings and vision tests
- Transportation assistance for rural patients
- Health education and awareness campaigns
- Early detection of preventable blindness
- Referral pathways to FEC clinic locations
- Partnerships with local health authorities
- Follow-up care for outreach patients

Our mission is not just to treat patients who come to us. It is to find those who cannot come to us, and bring the care to them.
